Rakshit Shettys Challenge FIR Filed Over Copyright violation :

He is known for his works Kirik Party and Avane Srimannarayana. Recently Shetty and his production house Paramvah Studios have been accused of copyright violation. An FIR has been lodged against Rakshit Shetty for alleged copyright violation causing quite a stir in the Industry. Sources revealed that the complaint had been filed by Naveen Kumar M of MRT music who accused Shetty of using two songs ‘Gallimuthu’ and ‘Nyaya Ellide’ in the movie ‘Bachelor Party’ without permission.

The Kannada actor and filmmaker Rakshit Shetty has thus landed himself in the legal fight. Also, this is not the first time Shetty was involved in a legal battle against copyright violation. Lahari Velu, director of Lahari Music accused Shetty of copyrights violation when Kirik Party was released back in 2016.

Until the case is settled this legal battle could affect Rakshit Shetty’s future work. As the news of these allegations was released, Rakshit Shetty’s team issued an open statement that they had decided to fight the case in court. They also stated that the songs in question were used in the film indirectly and proceeded to question if these instances could be deemed as infringement.

Additionally, they reasoned the extreme prices quoted by MRT music given the brief usage of the songs. Rakshit Shetty himself has not spoken out probably following his legal team’s advice. The whole industry and fans are looking forward to seeing how Shetty navigates through this challenging situation which could set a significant example for copyright concerts in the film industry.
