The truth of Love Jihad Controversy :

Some from the BJP political party are posting on social media that Manimegalai, who became well-known through the Cooku with Comali show on Vijay TV, has converted to Islam and that this is Love Jihad. Manimegalai fell in love with dancer Hussain while she was a host on Sun Music TV. The pair wed in 2017 against their parents' opposition. She left Sun Music after getting married and began working for Vijay TV. 

Manimegalai took part in a number of programmes, such as Cooku with Comali, and she amassed a large following thanks to her sense of humour. She announced her leave from the fourth season of Cooku with Comali, which is now airing, a few weeks ago, sparking controversy. Fans of Manimegalai were upset by this. Manimegalai has not yet disclosed why she left Cooku with Comali. In one instance, a piece of information regarding her was posted on social media and sparked debates. She allegedly blamed her husband for her conversion to Islam, according to a lot of people.

"Manimegalai... How did it start? How did it end? Love Jihadh. Enough of religious division". The Sengam BJP Information Technology Division's Twitter page posted a photo of Manimegalai and Hussain wearing hats and headscarves. Hussain was also wearing a hat. Also, they published a screenshot of Manimegali's tweet about their union with the message. After the truth regarding this was investigated, it turned out that Hussain-wedding Manimegalai's photograph had been shared on December 6, 2017.  "Hussain & Me Got Married Today. Sudden Register Marriage. Failed to convince my Dad, went out of Hands, hence this decision. I strongly believe that he ll understand me 1 day. LOVE HAS NO RELIGION. I Love You Hussain. Sri Rama Jayam. Allah" She captioned it with the official public announcement.

Similar to this, Manimegal jokedly posted a video indicating that she was getting requests for biryani during the Ramadan festival in May 2020 while wearing a hijab and Hussain was donning a hat. Currently, her detractors are spreading these two older posts and claiming that she converted him to Christianity. Manimegalai has never acknowledged being a convert. On their YouTube channels, they each post updates on their activities. Nevertheless, conversion is not mentioned.

Due to her Ramzan greetings, some people alleged that she had converted to Islam. Manimegalai’s posted a clarification. "Should we wish for Ramadan only after converting? No one has converted. Hussain will come to the temple with me. We will celebrate Ramadan together. We are clear. Don't bring your confusion here." Also, they both shared photos of Pongal together. She also just shared a photo of herself and Hussain conducting Pooja at their house. By taking note of everything said above, it is simple to conclude that the BJP's rumour about Manimegala converting to Islam is untrue.
