Singer Chitra inaugurated Artium Academy Music Centre :
Artium Academy Opens Second Physical Music Facility in Chennai. Located in Thoraipakkam off OMR, the new centre answers the increasing demand for high quality music training in the neighbourhood. The center was inaugurated by nationally awarded singer K.S. Chithra in the presence of Artium Academy Maestro and co-founders Vivek Raicha and Nithya Sudhir. This expansion comes on the heels of the successful launch of academy’s very first offline center in Alwarpet, opened on June 5, 2024 and presently catering to more than 350 active students.
This Thoraipakkam location is targeting music enthusiasts from Pallikaranai, Velachery, Sholinganallur, Perungudi, and even Karapakkam. "It's a center where traditional teaching methods intersect with modern technology," K.S. Chithra said on the new center. Artium Academy co-founder Vivek Raicha said the expansion to Chennai was only a logical response to the "overwhelming demand" from its music-loving community. With an innovative "phygital" music education concept, the academy combines physical instruction with digital tools to offer individualized feedback to students.
The new facility, with 25,000 square feet, is intended to serve learners of all ages and backgrounds. The equipment is high-end with brands from the best musical instrument manufacturers worldwide. Their curriculum, designed by eminent stalwarts like Ananth Vaidyanathan, K.S. Chithra, Aruna Sairam, Shubha Mudgal and others, encompasses the rich diversity of music theory, genres and composition. The academy has well-trained instructors and all the study materials you will require.
This launch is part of the expansion of Artium Academy, with an aim to establish 20+ academies by the FY 2025-26. The institution remains committed to fusionising the experience of online and offline learning, enabling the students to demonstrate their acumen in the form of performances. “Founded with the vision of globalizing Indian music, just within three years, Artium Academy has connected with more than 21,000 learners (out of which 45% students belong to outside the state).
