Sonu Nigam’s Dad Ex-Driver Booked for 72 Lakhs Theft :

The father of well-known playback singer Sonu Nigam, Agamkumar Nigam (76), has a former driver who has been charged with stealing Rs 72 lakh from their residence, the police announced here on Wednesday. While Nigam Sr. was away, the alleged theft is said to have occurred twice at his residence in the Windsor Grand flats in the Andheri West neighborhood. Following a report made by the singer's sister Nikita on Wednesday, the Oshiwara police got to work. Nikita told the police that her father had employed Rehan as a driver, who had been employed for approximately eight months before being fired recently for subpar work.

Last Sunday, Nigam Sr. paid a visit to Nikita's house in the nearby community of Versova before going back to his residence in Windsor Grand. He called his daughter later that day to let her know that money totaling Rs. 40 lakh was "missing" from his digital locker in the cabinet. The following day, Nigam Sr. reported another Rs 32 lakh had vanished from the digital locker after visiting his son Sonu's house in Versova and returning in the evening. Nikita went to the police after learning of the two thefts, which resulted in a total loss of Rs 72 lakh. Further information is awaited.
